How to tell if my dog is cold?
I believe anxiety caused his shivering as well, especially when we paid a visit to the vet. Of course, just pure excitement would trigger it too, like seeing another dog, his favorite mail delivery person or anticipating a car ride. Then there are those big head shakes which of course are different from the shivers and one interesting fact I learned from our Vet was that dogs will shake side to side to release tension.
